The Cornerstone Program is an initiative of Couples for Christ (CFC) with its outreach arm Answering the Cry of the Poor (ANCOP) in partnership with the Ateneo Center for Education (ACED). It aims to improve the quality of public school education by “provid[ing] complementary services to public schools through:

  • empowerment programs for teachers and principals;

  • provision of school supplies for children;

  • reading tutorials;

  • educational scholarships;

  • preventive dental and health programs;

  • feeding programs (such as the Jollibee Busog Lusog Talino Program and Ateneo Blueplate for Better Learning); and

  • improvement of certain school facilities through Brigada Eskwela and School Build.”

(Cornerstone Organizing Manual, 2012)

Cornerstone hopes to equip the children of today with the necessary skills, values and resources that will help them live successful and fulfilling lives.
